Hey Dad, I made it to Nebraska!

Check out this corn!

If you have a dad like mine, you know that he cares a lot about you and would be devastated if anything happened to you. Well, my dad asked me to update him 4 times a day while I’m gone just so he knows I’m ok. Within 5 minutes, that number went from 4 to 7 times a day and didn’t stop increasing until I drove away. So, here’s your final update for today, Dad. I made it to Nebraska!

Let me tell you. I figured out the hardest part of going somewhere: if you are going somewhere, you have to be leaving somewhere. Also, you have to be leaving the people that belong to that somewhere. The goodbyes are the hardest part. That is all I am going to say about that. I tried to write more, but ya know… emotions hahaha. Yours, that is. I don’t want to make you cry with my heartfelt words.

Anyways, I thought I should specify some things about my trip. First thing’s first: where am I going? Chanku Waste Ranch (pronunciation: Ch-ahn-coo wash-deh (not waste, like garbage) then just “ranch” like the dressing).

What is it? According to their Facebook about page, they are “an exciting summer day camp for kids on the Pine Ridge Reservation!” This is true. Plus so much more. The missionary families that put on this camp are awesome. They do so much for not only the kids on the reservation, but also the adults. Their church, Sharp’s Corner Baptist Church, has weekly gatherings on Sundays and Wednesdays; they have Bible studies; they have a food pantry for people in need; they help with local funerals and burials; they have a ministry where they make sandwiches for dialysis patients; they have a women’s prison ministry and I’m sure there is so much more that I am not even aware of. Seriously, they are some of the hardest working people I have ever met and they love Jesus.

What will I be doing? I’m not totally sure yet! This is the information I have: I will be helping with the kids aged 7 and under and also helping out with some tech stuff.

How excited am I? SUPER EXCITED! I am looking forward to seeing how God uses me. I have never received this much confirmation nor have I felt so sure that god wants me to be somewhere.

I will not be updating the blog everyday, but I will try to keep y’all informed as best I can!

Thank you for keeping up with my story and if you haven’t already, follow my blog so you can receive email updates whenever I post.

Your Dad’s numerology is exactly what I feel even though it is impractical for you.
Today’s journey is going to be exciting for you. Enjoy and commune with Jesus all the way. After all He spoke it into existence.! 🙏🙏🙏👍
